“Francophonie-2014”: professor of Sorbonne to hold training seminar at NEFU

On March 24, traditional Week of the French language and culture in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) “Francophonie-2014” was started. This year, the participants expect a number of master classes and workshops from professors from the universities of France.

“Victor Le Cam, master’s student of Sorbonne University and Christophe Aye, associate professor of the Department of French Philology of the Institute of Foreign Philology and Regional Studies to hold training seminars on teaching French. Seminars will be interesting to a wide audience of amateurs of the French Language. Master classes for pupils and students will be attended by more than 120 people, including a number of regions of the republic - Kobyaysky, Suntarsky, Gorny, Namsky, Ust-Aldansky”, said Marianna Samsonova, the head of NEFU Department of French Philology.

NEFU has rich experience of cooperation with the universities of France, currently there are seven agreements with the universities of this country. “We have double degree program in Economics, Tourism, and Fundamental Mathematics. Partnership is just beginning with a number of French universities. For example, we signed an agreement on joint Master program in Geomatics and Disaster Prevention with the University of Aix Marseille and we also prepare a joint master’s program in municipal management with the University of Le Havre”, said Izabella Borisova, the head of the French Resource Centre of NEFU International Relations Office.

The program “Francophonie-2014” includes competition of masters of French language and culture “Hexagone”, scientific consultations for teachers and pupils, theater festival “Signes de temps”. Let us remember that the Days of Francophonie have been held in Yakutia since 1998.
