Multimedia-museum of the republic industry was presented at NEFU

Multimedia-museum of Yakutia’s industry will begin to work at NEFU Institute of Engineering and Technology. Students and teaching staff began collecting electronic archive of documents, photographs, books and videos about engineering education at the university and industries of Yakutia.

On April 6, there was a presentation with Vyacheslav Shtyrov, the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council at the Institute. “We can collect the entire archive dedicated to engineering education in Yakutia at modern information center of Technical Sciences Building. Industry will be presented by the branches. Center is equipped with smart technology Samsung school, where we can keep not only the electronic archives, library, but also to conduct online conferences, lectures”, said Terenty Kornilov, the director of the Institute.

Vyacheslav Shtyrov addressed to future engineers: “Twenty five years ago two-thirds of the books were technical literature in bookstores. Now there is almost no such books. At one time there was underestimation of the role of the engineering, it was thought that to improve the economy, we need lawyers, economists, marketing experts. But now we have to make a de-industrialization, and employment issue will be relevant. I think that engineers must win this competition. The republic is waiting for many interesting cases, and I hope each of you will find yourself and you will get a happy professional destiny”.

Evgenia Mikhailova, the university rector noted that Vyacheslav Shtyrov, as ex-president of the republic, offered to make Yakutsk State University federal in 2004-2005. “At that time, it seemed like an impossible task - big competition, Russia has a lot of good universities, and the university did not even get the hundred best universities in the country. However, we took 35th place in the national ranking of universities in Russia by the end of 2012-2013 academic year. So the tasks were set right”, the rector said.

Vyacheslav Shtyrov handed two of his books to future museum of industry. On behalf of the university and the students, senator was given painting of the artist Fyodor Makarov, where Vyacheslav Shtyrov depicted with the students at the monument to Maksim Ammosov.
