My robot is my friend. Pupils from Yakutia won the International Youth Robot Competition

Within three days, 18 pupils from Yakutia have created unique robots. Robot-coach, robot-bulldozer, robot-dog and robot-mower, created by students of Yakutia, have become one of the best at the International Youth Robot Competition IYRC, held from 1 to 3 August in the Republic of Korea.

More than 200 children from Australia, Vietnam, Indonesia, China, Korea, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore and Thailand came to participate in these competitions in Daejeon. 18 pupils from Yakutsk, Verkhnevilyuysky, Megino-Kangalassky, Namsky, Nyurbinsky, Tattinsky and Khangalassky regions of Yakutia represented Russia in IYRC competitions.

"IYRC competitions became the first international robot competitions for students from Yakutia. Considering the fact that currently, only a few schools in Yakutia have educational robot kits HUNA - MRT, so the participation of Yakut pupils at the international robot competitions for these robots can be defined as very efficient. A few months of self-study under the guidance of their teachers and short-term training in NEFU Small Computer Academy allowed Yakut pupils to compete on equal terms with their foreign age mates", shared Vasily Maksimov, the Director of NEFU Small Computer Academy.

On the last day of the competitions, pupils from different countries presented their culture. Yakut students played khomus (trump), sang a song, danced the Ohuokhai Dance. After competitions, participants of the robot competitions spent two days in the National Pedagogical University in Konzhu, where they attended a lecture on "How to become a successful", training for robots assembly, robot soccer and other games. Delegation of Yakutia also visited the city Anchon, Daegu, Gyeongju and Seoul.

The next event on the robot kits HUNA - MRT will be held again next year in Daejeon within the next Robot Fusion Festival.
