Webometrics published another edition of the world ranking of universities. North-Eastern Federal University has improved its position, making 38 positions up and taking the 3462th position.

The ranking ranged 12 thousand universities around the world, 1531 of which are Russian. NEFU was included in the top hundred and holds 86th position among Russian universities - last year took the 94th place.

"NEFU improved its position in the ranking due to Presence criterion - the number of web pages, created in the main domains of the university, including all subdomains and directories indexed by the search engine Google. NEFU made 1000 positions up. The university made 16 positions up in Excellence criterion: the number of scientific publications of the university, which included in the group of 10% of the most cited papers in the relevant scientific field”, Director of the Department for Strategic Development Vasily Mironov said.

Webometrics analyzes not educational activities of the University in total, but the representation of the university in the web space. Webometrics Ranking allows you to evaluate the research achievements of universities through websites comparison.

Dynamics of federal universities participation in the ranking can be considered as positive. Most of them were included in the top 100 universities in Russia.
