NEFU Surgery Team took the second place at the All-Russian Student Surgery Competition named after M.I. Perelman with international participation, which was held since April 13 to 16 in Moscow.

Twenty-six teams competed for the title of best - over 350 winners of regional stages from all federal districts of Russia and foreign teams from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Kyrgyzstan. The team of Hungary participated for the first time this year.

Thus, sixth-year student Miron Mikhaylov and fourth-year student Valeria Argylova took the first place at the Microvascular Surgery Competition. Fifth-year students Nadejda Harlampieva, Ayur Irintseyev and fourth-year student Evgeny Mukminov took the second place in Urology. Sixth-year student Altynberk Kudayberdiev got a nomination for "Best implementation of practical task" in Osteosynthesis.

NEFU team of 17 students was formed according to the results of the university competition, which took place in winter 2015. "We are pleased that we achieved such results. I must say that the students were successful in almost all fields of the competition. If last year we took only 17th place, this time we made a big push, said Nikolay Gogolev, Head of the Department of Surgical Pathology and Dentistry at NEFU Medical Institute. - Students prepared together with the teachers of the Institute and practicing surgeons of Republican Hospitals №1 and №2. NEFU Endowment Fund financed a trip to the All-Russian Competition. On behalf of the members and leaders, I express gratitude".

Participants noted that their result is a gift to the university anniversary. The students of Medical Institute won prizes in the following fields: "Microvascular Surgery", "Urology", "Traumatology and Osteosynthesis".

NEFU Surgery Team was represented by students of 3-6 years of Medical Institute: Department of Anatomy and Anaesthesiology, General Surgery, Intermediate Surgery, Advanced Surgery, Traumatology and Orthopedics, Anaesthesiology and Emergency Medicine and Surgical Pathology and Dentistry.
