On November 30, the Honorary Professors of the university - the President of the University of the Arctic Lars Kullerud and Professor Kang Duck Soo at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies congratulated the staff of North-Eastern Federal University at the solemn meeting devoted to the 60th anniversary of the university education in Yakutia.

Lars Kullerud, the President of the University of the Arctic, NEFU Professor Emeritus, greeted the audience. He noted that according to the results of an independent study of experts, the Yakut university was recognized as the most effective university in Russia for scientific research of the Arctic and the North. "It’s great that Yakutians are proud of its university: the way it meets the needs of the republic and complies with international standards", said the president of the university partner. "I congratulate you on behalf of two million students and 200 thousand researchers of the University of the Arctic. NEFU management and professors really think differently, that’s why the university achieved the world level", he said.

Kang Duck Soo, Professor of Korean Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, NEFU Professor Emeritus, congratulated his Yakut colleagues. "I am happy that I discovered the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in 1994. With the opening of the Sakha-Korean school in Yakutsk, my destiny is firmly tied to your city. Every time I come, my colleagues and friends extend a warm welcome, I feel at home here", said the honorary professor of the Federal University. He noted the rapid development of the university, the changes that have taken place after the assignment of the federal status. "From the point of view of the eastern thinking, 60 years is a regeneration and the beginning of a new stage, said the Korean scientist. - I think that NEFU becomes the north-eastern gem with the real diamond".
