M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University is a participant of the 12th Forum of Rectors of the University Association of the Far East, Siberia and the North-Eastern regions of China (AURC), which ended on June 18, in Harbin. The university was represented by Rector Evgenia Mikhailova and Director of NEFU Institute of the East Nyurgun Maksimov.

The theme of the forum, held on the basis of the Chinese North-Eastern Agricultural University, was the strategy of relations between Russia and China within the frameworks of the project "One Belt - One Way". M.K. Ammosov Federal University, which has been closely cooperating with Chinese universities in many areas of education and science since the first days of creation, traditionally took part and acted as the organizer of projects implemented jointly by two countries.

Evgenia Mikhailova made a presentation "Federal University - an intellectual platform for the international integration of the region" at the plenary session of the forum. At the sectional meeting on expanding cooperation between Chinese-Russian universities and enterprises of China and Russia, the head of the Yakut university acted as a moderator from the Russian side. Within the frameworks of the forum, agreements on interuniversity cooperation with Heilongjiang Eastern University and Harbin University of Commerce were signed.

So, it is planned to open a joint bachelor program “Russian as a foreign language in tourism” with Heilongjiang Eastern University in the form of 2 + 2 - two years of study in China, then two years in Yakutia. Chinese students will learn Russian language under the coordination of NEFU teachers. Bachelors will receive two diplomas at the end of the educational program and will be able to find work in the field of tourism.

In addition, following the results of the forum, the chairman and members of the executive committee of the University Association were elected - Rector Evgenia Mikhailova was elected to the executive committee of the Association from Yakutia.

Also, within the frameworks of the working visit, the university delegation will pay an official visit to partner universities in the Northeast of the Chinese People's Republic - Heilongjiang Oriental University, Changchun University of Science and Technology and Harbin Polytechnic University.
