The International online congress "Fundamentals of building materials science" was held from 6 to 11 October. North-Eastern Federal University served as a base for the section on the design and operation of building materials in the Arctic and North.
The event was attended by researchers from universities in China, Kazakhstan, Germany, Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, South Africa and other countries.
The Congress is held with the aim of exchanging experience and knowledge in the field of creating new building composites, innovative technologies for their production and use, and for consolidating creative cooperation between universities, says Professor Aleksey Mestnikov at NEFU Engineering and Technical Institute, moderator of the section "Design and Operation of Building Composites in the Arctic and North".
According to the professor, the participants presented the results of scientific research on the development of building composites from local raw materials and the technology of their use in structures that are operated in the extreme climate of the North. "The students gained not only the experience of public speaking in front of a wide audience of the Internet space, but also got the opportunity to publish the research results in the peer-reviewed workbook on the basis of the RSCI", said Aleksey Mestnikov.
