On October 30, a cybersecurity lesson was held at North-Eastern Federal University, where students were told how to protect themselves from dangers in the Internet, correct behavior in the network, and protection of personal data.
Advisor to NEFU Rector Gennady Zolotarev noted that "Cybersecurity" is a new field and many do not understand the difference between it and information security. "Cybersecurity is primarily aimed at preventing, preventing illegal activities in the Internet network, social networks, countering extremist activities", he said.
"Today we can not imagine life without smartphones, laptops, the Internet. We are most concerned about the quality of wi-fi and the level of charge of our gadgets. Everyone has access to the Internet, a form of social provocation is developed in the network communication - "trolling". It is necessary to know and remember that any message in the Internet can be tracked. Therefore, it is necessary to be more responsive in network communication", said NEFU Vice Rector for Informatization Petr Ivanov.
North-Eastern Federal University trains information security specialists at the College of Infrastructural Technologies. According to Vice Rector Petr Ivanov, in the future the university plans to open a new direction of training personnel in information security.
The seminar was attended by employees of NEFU Department of Informatization, representatives of the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media of RS (Y), the Federal Security Service Directorate for the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
