NEFU to cooperate with Chungbuk National University

North-Eastern Federal University and the South Korean Chungbuk National University to launch joint research and educational programs. The universities signed a memorandum on November 9, within the frameworks of the 5th Russian-Korean Rectors' Forum.

The memorandum of understanding between universities includes cooperation in the field of higher education and research. Within the frameworks of the memorandum, they will begin the exchange program for students, graduate students, teachers and scientists. "Besides mobility programs, it is planned to conduct joint research and exchange of scientific materials. Chungbuk University will become a good base for cellular technologies – NEFU students can undergo an internship in this field", said Vladlen Kugunurov, NEFU Vice Rector for International Cooperation.

Chungbuk National University has a department of the Russian language and culture, which is another field of ​​cooperation. "Currently, South Korean colleagues are conducting joint work on educational and scientific areas with ten universities of Russia. NEFU became the eleventh educational institution. I note that Chungbuk University will be the 21st university in South Korea, which cooperates with NEFU", said the vice rector of the federal university.

Let us add that international cooperation is one of the main aspects of NEFU activity. Students and scientists of universities conduct joint research, promote Russian, Korean languages ​​and cultures, including academic mobility programs, summer international schools and advanced training.

Chungbuk National University was founded in 1951. It has 14 academic departments (bachelor's degree), 15 departments of higher scientific education (master’s degree and PhD) and 36 research institutes that serve as support centers for the research activity of the above-mentioned faculties.
