The contest final of NEFU interdisciplinary student projects was completed in China

Recently, the I contest of interdisciplinary student projects on improving the quality of life in the Arctic zone "Northern Challenge - Case: Yakutia" was completed in Harbin. The competition under the auspices of the University Association of the Far East and Siberia, Russia and the north-eastern regions of China (UARC) was organized by North-Eastern Federal University, with the support of Heilongjiang University, according to NEFU Institute of the East.

The contest is aimed at supporting the internationalization of Ammosov University. "The event was attended by bachelor students who study at UARC universities from China. It helped to identify talented young people in China who are able to improve the quality of life in the Arctic", the organizers noted.

Only four teams made it to the finals: two from Heilongjiang University, one from Changchun University of Science and Technology and the team of Qiqihar, Jilin Normal University. "During the contest, the most original, knowledge-intensive and commercially promising projects were identified among the presented interdisciplinary student works. As a result, the first place was awarded to the first team of Heilongjiang University, the second - the national team of two universities, and the third place was taken by the students of Heilongjiang University", said Director of NEFU Institute of East Nyurgun Maksimov.

"The team winners were awarded NEFU certificates that cover the cost of education in our university on the chosen Master's program, one year of language training at the Faculty of pre-university education and vocational guidance, as well as dormitory for 100%, 50% and 25% depending on the place they took", said the director of the institute.

Project competitions were held in four directions: development of road and transport infrastructure and technologies in the Arctic and the Far North; Self-employment of the population and small business; The development of software for calculating the foundations of buildings and engineering structures in conditions of permafrost; IT-solutions for the development of Russian-Chinese foreign economic cooperation, electronic commerce.

The contest final was held in Harbin on the basis of Heilongjiang Eastern University. NEFU delegation from Yakutsk comprising the Dean of the Faculty of Road Dmitry Filippov, Head of the Department of Sociology and Human Resource Management of Financial and Economic Institute Anna Mikhailova, Director of the Institute of the East Nyurgun Maksimov participated in the organization and realization of the contest, including work as part of the expert committee in China.
