Zhao Yin

1. Please tell us a few words about yourself: who are your parents, where and when were you born, what subjects did you like most at school and what profession did you dream of?

My name is Zhao Yin. I am a third-year postgraduate student and also a teacher. I love my profession and consider it the best and most interesting in the world. In my free time, I like to play sports. I often play football and volleyball with students, because sports give me health and self-confidence. I was born in a small village. Our family consists of three people: my father, mother and me. My father is a businessman, my mother is a buyer. When I was at school, I really liked Chinese literature and wanted to become a teacher.

2. Please tell us how you got the desire to study in Russia, at (name of the university….)? Who/what influenced this decision?

I began to get acquainted with the Russian language from early childhood. I live in the city of Fuyuan, which is located on the border with Russia. There are many Russians living and working in my homeland. When I entered the university, I very consciously chose NEFU.

3. What were your very first vivid impressions – about the country and the university?

I chose NEFU for a reason – it was fate. I will be happy to tell you about my university, because I think that my university is located in the most beautiful and interesting place. Famous professors and many experienced teachers work at our university. I am very glad that I was able to enter this university.
4. What was the biggest challenge you faced during your studies? How did you overcome it?

For me, the most difficult thing is special words during my studies.

Every morning I read words and texts. If I have any unclear questions, I immediately turn to the teachers.

5. What is the most valuable, useful and important thing for you – both as an individual and as a professional – did you receive at your Russian alma mater?

Having entered the university, I saw myself in a completely different light. All my previous ideas about the level of my knowledge have changed dramatically. It has become clear how little I know.
In my opinion, in the future we will need specialists with a broad profile. A specialist of the future is, first of all, a specialist who has deeply mastered the achievements of science, who has firmly grasped the theoretical basis of his profession. Therefore, at the university, we must study diligently, constantly work on ourselves. And most importantly, having entered the university, we must finally switch to an independent analysis of the situation and solve the problems that arise before us on our own.

6. Many successful people say that they were greatly influenced by this or that figure. Do you have such professional and life authorities? Who are they?

Everyone has their own guiding star or ideals in life. For some, it is a great writer or politician, and for others, it may be a favorite teacher. For me personally, this person is my respected teacher. I started learning Russian from scratch after entering university. To be honest, at the beginning, I had no interest in this language at all. And therefore, I still remember one phrase that can describe my state at that time: I did not choose the Russian language, but the Russian language chose me. But I can say that today I have turned into a different person who loves not only the Russian language, but also the Russian culture of the Russian people. For this change, I want to express my gratitude to my teacher. My teacher is a cheerful, gentle and friendly person. She never gets angry with students, but on the contrary, corrects their mistakes with great patience. I want to tell her with all my heart: "Thank you very much!"

7. At the moment, what are your most difficult, but at the same time significant professional projects and results are you proud of?

I entered the university I wanted and I will never forget this wonderful moment. Because this victory helped me overcome difficulties and constantly become better.

8. The world is changing very quickly. What area of knowledge necessary for your professional activity interests you today?

My professional activity is geography, because this is my specialty. I love my profession very much and consider it the best and most interesting in the world. Every time I teach students, it seems to me that I am not just explaining lessons, but traveling the world with them. As a teacher, I try not only to give knowledge to students, but also to raise them to be real people.

9. What practical advice would you give to your young compatriots who are just going to Russia to study?

Quickly adapt to the new environment
When studying in Russia, you need to quickly adapt to the new environment, many students are mainly going to Russia for the first time, the Russian environment has a feeling of freshness and unfamiliarity and it is normal that it requires us to establish the right way of thinking, quickly adapt to the new environment.
